Any reddened areas on the skin need to be noted and treated to maintain skin integrity as a breakdown in the skin can lead to wounds that may then cause infection which may then cause further problems to a patient's overall health. Any wounds on the skin need to be observed, documented and treated appropriately in consultation with the treating doctor's advice.
