Wound dressings aim to promote healing and reduce infection risk for patients, however, this can only be achieved by practising with an aseptic technique.
Aseptic technique is an infection control measure, which helps to reduce the presence of pathogenic organisms coming in contact with a wound.

This video provides an explanation of aseptic technique, details on the guiding Aseptic Non Touch Technique (ANTT®) framework, and further details on where to find latest clinical guidelines.
