What is this article about?

Ventilatory support is a life-saving intervention taken when a patient is unable to facilitate their own breathing due to low oxygen levels, severe shortness of breath or other causes of respiratory distress. Good basic overview, excellent refresher. Nothing beats a run through refresher. This will be useful confidence-builder when I do the practical application with the patient and an overseer.

There are so many different subjects on Ausmed! I thought it'd be hard to find the resources I need for complicated procedures or rarer conditions, but they've had everything I've looked for so far.
