What is this article about?

Ventilatory support is a life-saving intervention taken when a patient is unable to facilitate their own breathing due to low oxygen levels, severe shortness of breath or other causes of respiratory distress. Ventilation takes over the work of breathing by delivering oxygen into the lungs, reducing the level of effort required by the patient.

Good basic overview, excellent refresher. Nothing beats a run through refresher. This will be useful confidence-builder when I do the practical application with the patient and an overseer.

There are so many different subjects on Ausmed! I thought it'd be hard to find the resources I need for complicated procedures or rarer conditions, but they've had everything I've looked for so far.
