Epilepsy and seizure support is a specialised area of practice under the NDIS Practice Standards that involves high-risk tasks requiring advanced knowledge, skills and training. This Ausmed Training Module explores the essential skills and understanding needed to safely support NDIS participants who are at risk of seizures, including how to recognise early warning signs, respond confidently during a seizure and follow the participant’s individual epilepsy support plan. Learn how to provide safe, person-centred and effective support to people living with epilepsy, and understand your responsibilities in monitoring, reporting, escalation and the use of rescue medications where appropriate.
Note: This module is not a substitute for formal training or a competency assessment, which should be delivered by an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
