AI Guided Reflection helps Ahpra-registered health professionals review and document their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities with purpose and consistency. Using structured prompts aligned to Ahpra standards, the app guides users to reflect on what they learned, how it applies to their practice, and how it deepens their professional understanding. Each reflection is automatically recorded in a consistent format, creating a clear, auditable record of CPD that supports compliance, confidence, and ongoing professional growth.
Use case
After completing a two‑day professional development seminar, a nurse uses AI Guided Reflection to consolidate what they’ve learned. The guided prompts help them connect new knowledge to their daily practice, identify areas for improvement, and record key takeaways for ongoing professional growth and compliance.
AI Reflective Questions are built directly into training modules in the Ausmed App, supporting learners as part of the learning experience itself. Using an evaluation rubric, AI analyses the learner’s responses and provides formative feedback, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. This helps health professionals actively apply what they’re learning, rather than passively completing training. Previously available on web, reflective questions are now fully supported in the app, making skills practice and reflection accessible wherever learning happens.
Use case
A health professional completes a mandatory training module in the Ausmed App. As part of the module, they respond to AI reflective questions and receive immediate feedback on their understanding, strengths, and areas to improve, helping them translate learning into day-to-day practice.
You can now create both parent and child team structures via bulk CSV upload in Ausmed Perform. This enhancement streamlines setup for complex organisations, saving time and ensuring accurate reporting hierarchies.
Use case
Quickly establish team hierarchies — such as departments with sub-units — without manually configuring each group in the system.
The Audit Log now includes actions taken within the Perform product. This enhancement provides greater visibility and accountability across all Perform-related activities, such as notes, goals, and policy completions.
Use case
Compliance teams and managers can now track and verify actions taken in Perform directly from the Audit Log — improving oversight and simplifying audits or reviews.
Personalised messages are now supported in manual reminders across Perform and Learn, allowing you to include additional context when sending reminders to staff or managers (e.g. reminders to complete training or performance tasks). This helps ensure reminders are clear, relevant, and aligned to the situation. This improvement helps drive action more effectively by letting reminders include specific context (e.g. urgency, deadlines, expectations, or a note from an administrator), reducing confusion and increasing follow-through.
Use case
Administrators can now add a personalised message when sending manual reminders — for example, reminders to complete mandatory training or performance tasks. This makes reminders clearer and more actionable by providing relevant context, helping reduce delays and improve completion rates.
AI feedback for simulations and reflective questions is now significantly faster across both the app and web. The time between submitting responses and receiving AI feedback has been reduced by 49%, helping learners stay focused and maintain momentum during training. This improvement removes long waits that previously disrupted the learning experience, making it easier for frontline staff to complete training efficiently, even during busy shifts.
Use case
A frontline clinician completes an AI simulation as part of required training. After submitting their responses, they receive rubric-based feedback almost immediately, allowing them to reflect, learn, and move on without unnecessary delays.
The Injector Detector protects the integrity of AI simulations by automatically reviewing learner responses for security and misuse risks as they are being evaluated. It detects issues such as prompt injection attempts, attempts to bypass grading, and inappropriate or malicious input, ensuring AI feedback remains reliable and fair. When a response does not meet integrity rules, it is safely retained for audit purposes and excluded from grading, helping maintain trust in AI-powered learning without disrupting the broader training experience.
Use case
A learner submits responses during an AI simulation. The Injector Detector identifies an integrity issue during evaluation, marks the attempt as not yet satisfactory, and prompts the learner to retry. Their original responses are securely stored for review, while the simulation remains available to complete.
You can now duplicate an existing custom report — including graphs, filters and layout — and modify it for a new purpose.
Use case
Managers can quickly create report variants using existing templates, saving time and ensuring reporting consistency.
Learning is now more flexible than ever with microlearning. Designed for mobile, modules are delivered in short, focused bursts of under five minutes — making it easy for learners to fit education into a commute, break, or busy schedule. Each module is aligned to specific learning outcomes, ensuring progress is meaningful and engaging, not just bite-sized.
Use case
A busy healthcare professional can complete a short learning module during a shift break, reinforcing critical knowledge without needing to commit to a long session.
Learners can now access fully interactive video transcripts that make content more accessible and engaging. The transcript scrolls in real-time with the video, and learners can click on any line to jump straight to that moment — or click in the video and watch the transcript follow along. This flexibility means learners can study in the way that suits them best, whether reviewing key sections, following along word-for-word, or ensuring full accessibility.
Use case
A learner preparing for assessment can quickly revisit just the part of a video that covers the topic they struggled with, saving time and reinforcing understanding.
We’ve enhanced the Learning Assign API to now include a full “Learning Status” field — Open, Scheduled, Overdue, Missed or Completed — and support for querying across a rolling 12-month window.
Use case
Training managers and system integrators can now retrieve all assignment statuses across the past and upcoming year, enabling proactive tracking and better reporting.
A new API that delivers a per-user summary of assignment statuses — e.g., “Completed 4, Overdue 1, Missed 1” — ideal for dashboards and executive summaries.
Use case
Compliance officers and analysts can quickly load assignment summaries per user into BI tools to identify overdue or missed learning at a glance.
For the first time, learners can practise verbal skills in realistic, AI-driven simulations — safely, at scale, and with personalised feedback. Each simulation provides learners with a safe environment to make mistakes, reflect, and improve, while giving organisations the ability to deliver consistent, high-quality practice across their entire workforce. This breakthrough bridges the gap between knowledge and confident real-world performance.
Use case
A healthcare worker can practise delivering critical information to a patient in a simulated scenario, receive detailed feedback on tone and content, and repeat until confident — all without needing a trainer present.
Ausmed will soon issue certificates of completion for approved third-party learning resources. Only selected resources will include a certificate, giving staff clear recognition of their learning and helping organisations capture evidence of completion. This improvement strengthens compliance tracking and ensures valuable external learning is formally documented.
Use case
Organisations and individuals often rely on trusted third-party learning resources, but completion isn’t always formally recognised. Both individuals and organisations need a reliable way to verify that these external activities have been completed and to include them as part of professional development and compliance records.
A preview mode now allows creators to see both the staff and manager views of a survey before publishing.
Use case
Managers can ensure surveys appear correctly for all recipients, reducing errors and improving the experience for staff.
Users can now subscribe to the Organisation’s Status Page to receive instant updates about platform downtime, outages, or maintenance events — helping teams stay informed and minimise disruption.
Use case
IT admins or managers can proactively manage communications and reduce support queries during service interruptions by ensuring relevant users are subscribed to status updates.
New Add and Assign buttons in Perform Activities allow managers to take immediate action — add notes, goals, or feedback, or assign learning and Policy — all from one central screen.
Use case
Managers can support staff development and compliance more efficiently by streamlining their actions from a single view, without needing to navigate away.
When hovering over a user’s name, a new card will appear showing key details like job role, team, location, and work start date — making it faster to understand who someone is without leaving the current screen.
Use case
Managers, admins, or educators can quickly identify staff context when viewing reports or activity logs — saving time and reducing the need to open multiple tabs.
Team Managers can now add staff to their reporting lines and enrol them in relevant cycles — as long as they manage that team or location — simplifying user setup and ensuring accurate reporting structures.
Use case
Local managers or department heads can now onboard and enrol their own staff without relying on system-wide admins, reducing delays and improving autonomy.
The Perform Notes table now includes pagination, replacing the previous infinite scroll. This change improves load times and makes it easier to find or review historical notes.
Use case
Managers and admins reviewing large volumes of performance notes can navigate records more efficiently without overwhelming the browser or losing their place.
Managers can now preview Activities in Ausmed Perform as both a manager and a staff member. This ensures they know exactly how the content will appear to learners before publishing or assigning it.
Use case
Review layout, instructions, and content visibility from both perspectives — reducing confusion and saving time on revisions.
Single Sign-On (SSO) is now supported on the Ausmed website. Staff are automatically redirected to your organisation’s secure login page — no extra passwords, no extra steps.
Use case
Staff can sign in directly to the Ausmed website using the credentials they already use across your organisation — reducing login friction and improving access.
We’ve upgraded Ausmed’s underlying framework to the latest supported version. This keeps the platform fast, reliable, and secure, while laying the groundwork for smoother user experiences going forward. No action is required from learners or admins. This is part of our ongoing commitment to keep the platform fast, reliable and secure.
Use case
Everyday tasks — from loading dashboards to navigating course pages — now feel more consistent and responsive thanks to performance and stability improvements in the upgraded framework.
Ausmed’s SCORM modules now include AI-powered reflective questions — an industry-first. These interactions let learners write a personal response to a clinical scenario or prompt and immediately receive feedback generated by AI and benchmarked against expert-designed rubrics.
Use case
A health worker completes a SCORM module on wound care via their employer’s LMS. At the end of the module, they're asked to reflect: “Describe how you would manage a patient presenting with a Stage 2 pressure injury.” After submitting their response, the AI evaluates it using a clinical rubric and returns tailored feedback.
You can now upload files directly as supporting evidence in the LMS. Whether it’s a PDF, Word document, image or other file type, managers and team members can attach these files to Learning Records and completion workflows.
Use case
A nurse completes a hands-on competency. Instead of linking to a shared folder, their manager uploads a scanned assessment form directly to the LMS record — making supervision, auditing, and compliance tracking faster and easier.
Ausmed Perform now includes ready-to-use templates that make performance management faster and more consistent. The new Question Bank brings together clinical and custom organisation-specific questions. Activity Templates offer guided structures for key conversations, like probation and annual reviews. Program Templates (previously called Cycles) allow you to bundle activities into reusable programs for easy rollout.
Use case
Managers can run structured, effective reviews with less effort — saving time, improving consistency, and ensuring accountability across teams.
Ausmed’s Audit Log captures a detailed record of key account actions — including who made the change, what was changed, and when it happened.
Use case
Ideal for governance teams and system administrators who need to demonstrate oversight, trace issues, or validate activity for compliance.
Managers can now see if — and when — their feedback has been viewed by staff. This visibility helps close the loop on performance conversations by confirming that guidance hasn’t just been sent, but also received and acknowledged.
Use case
After providing performance feedback through the Manager Portal, a manager can check whether a staff member has viewed the feedback.
You can now share fixed snapshots of learning reports with other LMS managers using secure, time-bound links.
Use case
Perfect for sharing compliance snapshots or progress updates with managers or stakeholders — without exposing real-time data.
Learners now receive instant, tailored feedback on every response — not just a generic model answer. Using educator-designed rubrics, our AI evaluates answers at scale and delivers specific guidance.
Use case
A nursing student answers a case-study question. Instead of a canned response, they get detailed, personalised feedback pointing out strengths, gaps, and next steps.
Ausmed Perform now saves your work automatically in the background while you create or edit activities.
Use case
Ideal for busy managers and clinical leads who can’t afford to lose work.
Team and Location Managers can now directly manage Perform tasks for their teams — including updating reporting lines, enrolling staff into programs, and editing reporting line structures.
Use case
Perfect for larger organisations where local leads need the autonomy to manage team structures without waiting on central system admins.
Ausmed’s Stats API now includes secure metadata about user completions — with a retrievable link to each learner’s PDF certificate (when applicable).
Use case
Enable seamless sharing of completion data and certificates across HR or compliance systems — without exposing raw files or manual exports.
You can now easily update a staff member’s manager directly from their profile—making it faster to keep reporting lines accurate.
Use case
When a staff member gets a new manager, admins can quickly update their reporting line from the user profile—reducing confusion and keeping manager responsibilities aligned.
We’ve streamlined the “Mark as Complete” action in the Staff Portal to make it faster and less disruptive.
